So, as the title suggests, I, from time to time, write raps. The content of my raps usually revolve around the same research I present in prose form on this blog, because it helps balance the hemispheres of my brain, or so I think. It does help, though, finding a creative outlet to voice or depict what you’re trying to espouse with the logical, straight-line and hard-wired part of your brain that produces less abstract information. Painting, poetry, digital media and art and a list of other activities are just some of the ways you can exercise that creative intelligence in your brain.
In this rap….err, spoken word poem, I’ve covered some, mostly philosophic, topics that are aligned with my prose found elsewhere on this blog. Here are the lyrics:
Eugenicists, these menaces, provide the impetus for the way we live
When there ain’t no knowledge or related instances
Tragedy strikes and it’s shit we in
Be a friend, be kinder men
Combat everything not positive
See that the essence is…
And they’ll be no retreat when you begin feeling it
We been in this shit a minute living
Now they damaging the consciousness
Don’t be remiss or a silent consenting simp
Try to get interested with no giving in
Remember health & temperance
Semi-Sheen with it, you’ll be winning then
And in the end, mend and lend
A bridge and dividends
‘Cause it only takes a helping hand to uplift the kin
P.S. I’m trying to upload an accompanying video of me performing the verse.
